Jim Luck presented a class on Marquetry and Inlay:
The first part of the class was to make a five piece marquetry project consisting of a four piece border and a center oval.
Lining up the Mitered corners of the border. Tracing the oval template for the center. Lining up the oval on the border.
Triming the border to fit the oval center. Completed marquetry project waiting for finish.
The second part of the class was to inlay an oval with a string border in the center of a solid piece of wood then inlay a letter.
Putting the string border on the oval. Border pinned and glued to the oval. Routing out the hole for the oval.
Cutting out for the letter. Filling the cutout with colored epoxy. Completed project waiting for finish.
